About Jessica Riley

As a Bowenwork Practitioner, Jessica Riley, LMP, RBT, has a huge curiosity and passion for the human body and an undying belief that our bodies were designed to self heal. It’s been her calling to study, practice and pass on these gifts and knowledge through her hands with BowenWork. She truly believes that BowenWork has given us a tool that gives our body the resources for self-transformation.

Background:

After her collegiate studies, Jessica worked as a Chiropractic Assistant from 1999-2002 to gain a higher understanding of the body’s nervous and musculo-skeletal system, dangers of pharmaceuticals, and the basics of nutritional healing. She continued her education by studying Massage Therapy at Ashmead School of Massage and then trained with Dr. Lise Maltais, N.D. of Comox, Canada B.C. for two years to become finely tuned in the Bowenwork technique.

Jessica has continued her education by studying:
Advanced and “Masters” Bowenwork with Ossie and Elaine Rentsch of Australia
Body & Mind Bowenwork with Margaret Spicer and Anne Schubert of Australia
Practitioner Bowenwork Review with Paul O’Conner of New Zealand
Bowen for Stoke and the Immobile with Robyn Wood of Australia
Sport Bowen 1&2 with Robyn Wood of Australia
and many other healing modalities, including Matrix Energetics and the Yuen Method.

Professional Organizations:
National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals
Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia
United States Bowen Registry
American Association of Bowenwork Practitioners

Why healing work?
Many people ask me what drew me to Bowenwork. I believe that Bowenwork picked me to practice it (or you can say God did). From a young age I was drawn to using my hands to provide loving touch for anybody in need, so I somehow knew I was meant to do healing work.

I was very resistant to it when I first was exposed to Bowenwork’s simplicity, gentleness, and absence of ego….yep….this was a big one. The Bowenwork Practitioner truly has to take herself/himself out of the equation and trust the process. That was a difficult paradigm shift for me because everything I’d been exposed to in the healing professions required that the practitioner/doctor create the manipulation or change. But Bowenwork is very unique and profound. As I began to introduce my clients to the work while studying Bowenwork, their bodies kept creating miracles, so I really had no choice in the matter.

On a Personal Note:
My husband and I and are currently in transition and looking forward to getting settled in Dallas, Texas. When we aren’t busy with our work, we enjoy traveling, running, biking, hiking, listening to music, NBA basketball games, playing with our big hairy cat, and sneaking away for long weekends to adventure out and try new things. We both love to make each other laugh (thank goodness for laughter), commune with God and nature, and spend quality time with friends and family. I am currently on a sabbatical and in the process of getting licensed to practice healing work in Texas. Stay tuned for a new Blue Fire Bowenwork location opening in the Dallas area. I can be reached by email for questions or comments at Jessica@bluefirebowenwork.com.

What is BlueFire?

BlueFire symbolizes what occurs when the body heals itself. Fire is a known element within eastern and biblical realms to cleanse or purify the body. The “blue” fire symbolizes self or internal healing from our “blue” print.

“Receiving life’s blessings happens when we are able to forgive and let go.”
