Jessica Riley

I knew from a young age I was meant to do hands on healing work. Realizing my gifts, dreams, and passion of learning energy medicine would never be fulfilled by following the traditional medical path; I began my journey as an alternative bodywork practitioner by attending Ashmead College of Massage (Now Everest College) in 2000 in Everett, WA. After completing the massage program in 2001, I passed the Washington state and national massage therapy exam (NCBTMB) , and received a Massage Therapy License.

I was introduced to Bowenwork from a colleague and despite my skepticism, I knew immediately I was meant to learn this work. It was one of those "Aha ha" moments. To this day, I'm convinced Bowen chooses you as a practitioner, you don't choose it. Immediately after I finished massage school, I began training with Dr. Lise Maltais, ND of Canada. After two years of training, I passed the Bowen Academy of Australia examination to become a Registered Bowenwork Practitioner.

Since becoming a licensed practitioner, I have studied with other exceptional bodywork instructors, doctors and healers from all over the world. I've been fortunate to have owned several health related practices in the Pacific NW and am excited at how much the Dallas community has embraced Bowenwork since I relocated here in 2008.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and movement of many forms including yoga, dancing, hiking, traveling, meditation, taking pictures, exploring energetic healing techniques, healthy eating, and laughing as much as possible. The best gift I've ever been given is being Mommy to my sweet daughter, Madeline and wife to my ever so loving husband, Ryan. Can't forget the Coho kitty, who brings smiles to all.

Integrated Practice
In addition to Bowenwork, I have a passion for yoga and how much that plays a role in rehabilitation of injury and the overall wellness of an individual. After being a student of yoga for 10+ years, I decided I really wanted to incorporate yoga into my practice to help show my clients how to move and open their own bodies. In 2009, I completed a Hatha and Anusara influenced yoga teacher training course and became a Registered Yoga Teacher. I've taught group classes in addition to doing one-on-one sessions with clients who want to improve their practice or need some help rehabilitating injuries. I find yoga to be particularly synergistic with Bowenwork because of how it invites the entire being to be present; your mind relaxed, your breath calm, heart open and body active. It also invites the healer within to do the healing, just like Bowenwork.

It is also important to note that it is the culmination of my own personal healing, educational studies, yoga knowledge and intuitive insight that I am able to hold space for people to process their healing at a deeper level. This is a very special gift I offer clients who are wanting to release some of the past wounds and experiences that have kept the body and soul from being well and fully expressed.

What Does BlueFire and the Lotus Flower in my logo Symbolize?

After an amazing healing experience in Hawaii a few years ago, I was inspired to change the name of my business to symbolize the transformation a person goes through with deep cellular healing work.

Fire is a known element within eastern and biblical realms to cleanse or purify the body. The "blue" symbolizes self or internal healing from our divine "blue" print.

The lotus flower represents creation, birth and new beginnings. Healing offers us an opportunity to awaken to the greatness of who we are and embrace the emergence of new possibilities.
